Complete and balanced means that Pinchi D meets and exceeds all of the nutritional requirements your dog needs, from macronutrients (protein, fat and carbohydrates), to micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). Our recipes follow the AAFCO nutritional standards for All Life Stages. Our recipe is also cross checked with the FEDIAF (European Pet Food Industry Federation) standards.

The acronym AAFCO is widely used to market dog food in Australia and you may have wondered what it stands for. AAFCO is the American Association of Feed Control Officials, and they are the industry association for animal feed production in America. It’s a guideline established to help pet food labels adhere to minimum expectations of what the ingredients in their food should offer. The reason it might be on your Australian dog food is sadly because Australia has no such standards, so most brands in Australia follow them. Here at Pinchi D we understand that these standards are far from perfect and provide only the minimum nutritional guides for dogs. But we also understand that you want to make sure your dog is getting everything they need from their food. This is why we formulate our recipes to meet and safely exceed the nutritional values set out by AAFCO. We are able to obtain these requirements using only natural ingredients, without any boosters, fillers or artificial supplements.

Our original recipe contains 37% Carbohydrates and 8% Fibre. Our ingredients, which include carbohydrates, are low in GI and are included for their ultimate nutritional value.

Pinchi D contains a single animal protein which is suitable for dogs who need a hypoallergenic diet. Crocodile meat is a novel protein meaning most dogs have never been exposed to this protein before. Novel protein foods are helpful as many dogs have problems digesting their food. Food allergies or intolerances can present as stomach upsets (like vomiting or diarrhoea) but can also show up as skin problems (constant itching, hot spots, and even recurrent ear infections).
